Baked sweet potato cake

I used to make baked sweet potato cake quite often with my mum in autumn when i was little. It is very simple and easy. When I founds chestnut in a park, somehow I remember that. Next day I try to buy sweet potato in a super market but it was very small and looked not sweet enough. I thought maybe difficult to find it for this sweet... The very next day, on my way to work, I just passed veg stand in a market and I founds perfect sweet potato there!


This is the baked sweet potato. Taste very simple and nostalgic. I will do it again while it's season.

Mussel

Today, M brought 3kg of mussel that directly come from mussel farm in Scotland. Five of us finished it all!


Firstly, I cooked it very simple, with garlic, white wine and parsley.

Today's high light; Garlic, Sake, parsley, leek and fresh cream. A was saying "I don't like mussel!" but end of evening, he ate this more than anyone. This was best ways for cook mussel, even someone don't like mussel could enjoy it!

Petersham Nurseries

I love going to this Petersham Nurseries (http://www.petershamnurseries.com) in Richmond after Vintage market. Very peaceful and beautiful place to have a lunch. They always change menu depend on what is growing in their garden and available at a market.

Midnight, A brought back two pair of Dr Martin shoes. A is the designer who bring Dr Martin back to fashion! Kitchen suddenly became fitting room. Thank you, those will be my shoes for life.

Autumn in London

Finally, I back to London. I went to Jogging this morning. I really need to do exercise after all those foods I ate from the trip. Also I missed my jogging rote where I could feel season. Beautiful autumn scenery along side of Regent canal and Victoria park.

Japanese Pancake

This time, I stayed in Tokyo less than 24 hours. I could stay in Naria but always nice to see friends even if it is very short time. We head to Okonomiyaki Place because I wanted to enjoy end of summer. Somehow Okonomiyaki is quite summerly food for me, maybe because we always have Okonomiyaki stand in summer festival or I used to often go to Tukishima in summer time?


Restaurant; Fuwatoro in Ebisu. They do Kobe style Okonomiyaki. Well, It is more like Akashiyaki, that why they actually don't call this Okonomiyaki. They call it Fuwatoroyaki. It is much lighter and very soft than normal okonomiyaki. Mmmmmmm I love it.
