This is my new favorite recipe; Rocket&basil pesto. One day, I was about to make pesto but I realized I don't have enough basil. I used half rocket and half rocket instead because I remember one of my friend told me that he made pesto with some leaf veg from his garden and was delicious! so why not? Rocket gives little bit of spice to pesto and it's delicious!

I was invited to Spanish dinner by ex-flatmate. He and I both work in fashion industry but we both love food and have passion about it. As soon as i arrived, he give me this pretty homemade Medlar jelly! The label was hand drawn by him.

Quince and manchego cheese for desert.

I brought tortilla back with me and I ate it for my breakfast next day. I put chorizo and leek on top, a little bit Japanese arrange. That was very good combination! I should tell him.

One Dim sum is a restaurant where my friend recommend while ago and I always wanted to go but didn't have chance because you need to wait while to have a seat. There is always long ques. However, you will understand why people wait so long when you tried it. It is amazing Dim sum with amazingly reasonable price so it's worth to wait really.

All dish are so high level. No wonder why they have one Michelin star!! They are one of the most cheapest restaurant with Michelin star!! (Tim ho Wan in Mong kok is another one but you need to ques for longer hours)

This Shu mai(Pork Dumpling) was my favorite!!

Karakoy Gulliiogle is famous patisserie for Baklava. Baklava is a rich, sweet pastry made of layers of filio pastry filled with chopped nuts and sweetened with syrup or honey. Specially this double layered pistachio was tee best!

I was in Hong Kong couple days after the Japan earthquake on 11 March. I went to posh Japanese super market and realized so much less customer than normal and most of Japanese product is on sale. Even if the product produced before the earthquake and no damage from radiation. I bought as much as I could brought back to London. I think Japanese government really need to make a clear guidance for not to make people worry about safety about Japanese product, otherwise it's very natural that they avoid it. I hope our government became honest and supportive for people's safety.

The main reason I come to Porto was to eat their famous octopus! but the Octopus restaurant I wanted to go was closed for new year holiday... Port is famous for their aged Port wine and green wine (white wine picked grape late and drunk very young) produced in the Douro valley. There are a lot of wineries along side of Douro liver.

I wanted to have a soup, then I got this ultra classic Heinz tomato soup. Actually, it was my first time to try this famous soup. It wasn't one for me. It's too plain and nothing special but I realized the important point to keep same taste for 100 years. That is so plain, very standard and not special, so people keep having it without any doubt. Sometime we like adventure but at same time we also feel comfortable to same thing; basic. We all have some balance of those two different side for a lot of subjects but also in food. That's my thought of today.

Sometime in local sometime in town sometime out of town. Today E brought me to New shop/coffee/bar in EC1 called out of town(www.outoftown.com) located back street of Clarkenwell road.

Very small hidden place combine Cafe, bar and shop(Mainly English old vintage items). Feels like i come to someones house. Would be nice to do this kind of lacal shop/restaurant with full of tasrty food in future!

Soup with chashao. The soup is full of flavor of pork and seafood.

The Tomita's Noodle. Very thick and pleasantly chewy! Very close taste to good wheat flower noodle; Udon.

I don't remember how many times i said good or delicious during the meal. This was the best noodle for this year. You could order this noodle from their web-site, it's really worth it.

The main reason I come back to Japan this time was to attend my friend wedding. They had their wedding ceremony in one of most prestigious shrine in Japan; Meiji Jingu. Welcome tea with cherry blossom leaf.
